Tenafly, NJ, May 12, 2016, Matt Matsuo, President and Chief Operating Officer, has been recognized by Elite American Executives, for dedication, achievement and leadership in corporate branding.

With a career spanning more than 50 years, Mr. Matsuo has honed his abilities to be an effectual and successful leader. He initiated and developed the private label concept for the packaging industry in late 1970s and successfully promoted this concept around the world. The whole world copied his model and created a multi-billion dollar industry. Earlier on, he headed the international group for YKK Zipper Corporation, which took over the entire U. S. market. In 1980, he decided to open his own company and further establish his career. He retired from YKK and began developing a private label company. He opened the first of these companies in 1983 in Hong Kong.

He is currently at r-pac International Group, which has been awarded by many major retailers for maintaining corporate branding. Not only has r-pac become a leader in private distribution of an array of softline apparel labels, tags, and packaging, but has also delved into the world of hardline packaging. Today, r-pac International is comprised of over 30 manufacturing locations and countries worldwide, including 11 US sales offices. He is affiliated with various YKK foundations and American private label industry organizations. In addition, he is affiliated with charities bringing relief to areas in Japan affected by the Tsunami. When Mr. Matsuo isn’t working (which is rare), he enjoys Kendo (Japanese fencing) and has been doing so since the age of five which he began so many years ago to maintain family tradition.

Matt Matsuo was originally selected for inclusion in EliteAMERICAN Executives in 2013. We are proud to be featuring Mr. Matsuo again in EliteAMERICAN Executives for 2016.
