With both his personal experience and professional experience in the struggles of dealing with addition, Mr. Hairston ensured that each patient received his dedication and commitment to their individual recovery. He enjoys the opportunity to make a positive impact on people’s lives and has committed his life and career to ensuring others have the opportunity to celebrate their sobriety as he has.
Mr. Hairston is a positive light in a profession that sees such darkness. Attributing his success over the years to his honesty and conviction, Mr. Hairston still remains committed to improving the lives of others. He often speaks publicly of his experiences and strives to evoke strength and positivity in those who listen. For his dedication and success in his profession, Mr. Hairston has received many honors, including the highlight of his career, having the Hairston House in Northampton, MA named after him.
Mr. Hairston is a Deacon at his local college church and volunteers his time at Jesse’s House, a local shelter for homeless families. He retains affiliations with the Local Men’s Group, Massachusetts Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors, Inc., and the National Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors. Mr. Hairston received the Man of the Year Award for 2007-2008, Employee of the Year Award in 2005, Hands and Heart Award, Counselor of the Year Award from the Massachusetts Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors, Inc., Award for Outstanding Service in the Field of Addiction from GEICO, Professionals of the Year Award, Outstanding Employee Award for Work in the Field from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Employee of the Year Award, Certificate of Appreciation, and 20-Time Recipient of National Awards.
