Mr. Ross is a founding member of Ross Mongeon Covello & Co, a boutique intellectual property firm that supports early-stage technology companies. He provides counsel and support for a broad spectrum of IP initiatives, including licensing and commercialization opportunities for technology development focused primarily in life sciences and alternative energy. For over 10 years, Mr. Ross was Intellectual Property Counsel to The University of Western Ontario and the Robarts Research Institute in London, Canada and previously was a former General Counsel to a publicly-traded, real property company which operated throughout Canada. Ross Mongeon Covello & Co is a business and intellectual property law firm with offices in London, Hamilton and Toronto, and also provides trade mark and patent agent services. Members of the firm independently provide consulting and business strategic planning in connection with development and commercialization of intellectual property rights.
Mr. Ross is a member of Board of Trustees to the Licensing Executives Society (USA & Canada), Inc. (LES) of Alexandria, Virginia, and currently the Regional Vice President, Canada for LES. He is also a Board member of the LES Licensing Foundation, whose mandate is annually hosting international business plan competitions focused on IP. Both of these entities are not-for-profit. Previous board membership included the London Skating Club as well as Chair of LondonConnect Inc., a for profit entity providing high-speed, dark fibre service for the City of London. Mr. Ross is a former member of the Conference Board of Canada’s “Leaders’ Roundtable on Commercialization” in connection with university/industry partnerships, and has lectured to the LL.M. programme in Intellectual Property for Osgoode Hall at York University. Mr. Ross holds an Honours Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University, a Bachelors of Law from Western, a Masters of Laws (Intellectual Property) from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University and a certificate in alternative dispute resolution through the University of Windsor. He sits on the advisory committee of a number of privately-held corporations.
