As the CEO of a consulting company, Dr. Endara offers consultations on business, health care and patient safety. With over 32 years of professional experience, Dr. Endara’s greatest highlight was being selected for the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award, winning in 2000 and 2001. He enjoys his position because it allows him to interact with various people and he attributes his success in his industry to his desire to frequently walk around and network with everyone.
With a unique educational and professional background for his current position, Dr. Endara earned a Ph.D. in health care administration from Middleham University in 1995, a Master of Business Administration in health care management from Webster University in 1990, a Bachelor of Arts and Science in health care administration from Texas State University in 1988, and he completed coursework in English and Spanish at The American School in Ecuador. He is dedicated to traumatology and served for 20 years in the United States Army Medical Department. He is fluent in Spanish, German, and Italian, and is currently working on two books, “The Life of Soldier, Marco A. Endara,” and “Pia’s Angels.”
With vast experience and success, Dr. Endara advises others to remain current with your knowledge of the industry by attending conferences, seminars and meetings. As an example of his continuous efforts to stay abreast on topics he holds a plethora of certifications in various fields, including certification courses with the United States Navy’s American Society for Healthcare Risk Management in 1999, training from the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations Quality Management Symposium in 2004, patient safety training with the United States Air Force in 2002, examiner training from the Department of Commerce at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in 2001, 2000 and 1998, compliance and quality management workshop for the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations in 1998, compliance and quality management instructor for the United States Air Force in 1996, hyperbaric chamber training course from the United States Army at NASA in San Antonio, TX (1988), faculty development and instructor courses with the United States Army, 1987, certified linguist in American and Spanish, certified linguist in German at the advanced level from the United States Army in 1978, and certified in health care management. He has also remained current on various topics by holding affiliations with various associations, including a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, an examiner on the Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Program in 2001, 2000, and 1998, and the National Geographic Society.
Dr. Endara also lends his expertise to various charities, including a volunteer with the Catholic Church at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas Baptist Children’s Home, United Cerebral Palsy, as a facilitator for nicotine cessation at the Health and Wellness Center in Ramstein, Germany from 1997-2003, cholesterol screening volunteer with the Health and Welfare Center in Ramstein from 1997-2003, and a facilitator with the nicotine cessation at the American Cancer Society from 1976-1980. Dedicated to quality service and hard work, Dr. Endara has also received various honors during his military career and professional career, including Bonus Award from the United States Air Force from 1990-2003, Award in Healthcare and Education from the National Institute of Technology and Standards, Bonus Award for achieving improvement in patient safety during national inspections from the Veterans Hospital in San Francisco, CA, six-time recipient of Expert Badges, Combat Medical Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Army Gallantry Medal, Army Commendation Medal for Heroism, Army Service Medal, Army Meritorious Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Professional Development Ribbon, and six-time recipient of the Good Conduct Medal from the United States Army.
