Holyoke, Massachusetts | November 2, 2010 | John Borowski, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Tow Technology Institute, has been recognized by Elite American Executives for his dedication, achievements, and leadership in all aspects of business management.
As Co-Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Borowski develops and operates new technologies. Mr. Borowski knows towing and recovery. In fact, he has spent nearly four decades of his career in the business of automotive truck towing. While still a teenager, his parents established a towing business that quickly grew from a one-truck operation to a 30-truck fleet staffed by 40 employees. The invaluable experience he learned in the towing industry as a young man served to pave the way for the remainder of his career. Mr. Borowski worked for a towing industry magazine for a number of years and later held executive positions with the top three highest rated tow truck manufactures in the United States.
Driven to share his expansive industry knowledge, Mr. Borowski founded Xtreme Team, a private consultancy that provides safety training for towing businesses and government highway departments. He works extensively with local fire departments and law enforcement personnel to educate them on the specifics of safe towing and recovery procedures. The goal of Xtreme Team is to work alongside rescue teams to reduce the amount of time that passes from the point of an automotive collision to the arrival of medical assistance and towing teams, thus increasing accident survival rates.
The initiatives taken up by his company are completely new to the towing and recovery industry. A pioneer among towing professionals, he intends for the procedures put in place by Xtreme Team to ultimately become an industry standard for cross training and safety. Mr. Borowski looks forward to working with a wide variety of rescue teams and towing businesses in the coming years and is excited at the prospect of playing a pivotal role in highway safety.
A graduate of Holyoke High School in 1973, Mr. Borowski is Certified as a Hoisting Engineer and a Certified Driver. He holds affiliations with the Western Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association, Inc., the Statewide Towing Association, and the Towing & Recovery Association of America. Dedicated to service, Mr. Borowski has been honored with various awards, including the American Towman of the Year Award for 2005, Two-Time Recipient of the American Recovery Medal for Saving Lives (1995 and 1983), recipient of the Presidential Award in 1985 from Towing & Recovery Association of America, and in 2001 an inductee of the International Towing & Recovery Hall of Fame and Museum.
