BOSTON, MA, August 31, 2011, Jane Correia, General Manager of Correia Construction Company Limited, has been recognized by Elite American Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in contract management and negotiation.
Sixteen years ago, Mrs. Correia joined her husband at his construction company to help propel the business by offering her management expertise. The firm provides quality innovative marine construction, commercial and civil works, for private enterprises, government sectors, and residential clients. It’s attributes include the construction of homes, warehouses, remediation projects, and fuel service stations. As general manager, Mrs. Correia manages office operations, cash flow and projects, and ensures quality. Inspired by her mentor, Diana Kempe, she continues to be motivated by her husband, Dennis.
In a recent interview, Mrs. Correia mentioned that the highlight of her career was being awarded a contract to design, build and tender the cruise ship deck at Coxen Hole, Roatan, Honduras for the world’s largest cruise ship, launched by Royal Caribbean International in 2010. Her success also earned her the recognition of first female commodore of the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club, a Certificate in Grateful Appreciation for Leadership and Commitment in Bringing Freedom Schooner Amistad to Bermuda (2005), a Certificate of Appreciation in Recognition of Outstanding Contribution to Bermuda Hospitals (1983), and was appointed to the Consumer Affairs Board.
For Mrs. Correia, who is gratified when her work improves the lives of others, she does not stop working when the day is over. Away from her professional duties, she created and maintains the Back to Work program through the Construction Association, which is a program aimed at expanding the productive labor force in Bermuda, where employment rates are high. She began the initiative in 2008.
Mrs. Correia served as chairwoman for The Montessori Education Trust in Bermuda in 2002 and 2003, and was active with The Bermuda Civic Ballet from 1998 to 2006. Currently she sits on the Board of Governor for The Royal Bermuda Yacht Club, a position she has held since 1999, and is chairwoman of the Airport Advisory Committee. She lends her support to the Meals on Wheels Association of America, and intends to experience professional growth in the future.
Jane Correia was originally selected for inclusion in Elite American Executives in August 2011. We are proud to be featuring Mrs. Correia again in Elite American Executives for 2013/2014.
