Ms. Smith played an instrumental role in implementing a new ordering and billing system in March, 1998 for Verizon Communications, and she received a certification from the Bell Atlantic Corporation in 2000 to order provisioning systems from the company to enter into long-distance businesses. Prior to her position as Executive Director for Verizon Communications, she taught chemistry and biological sciences for high school students. Ms. Smith received the Careers and Disabled Magazine Employee of the Year award in 2008, and attributes her success to her determination and her learning skills.
Ms. Smith earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Chemistry from Lincoln University in 1976, and volunteers with various charitable organizations. In the future, Ms. Smith hopes to pursue her career in the nursing field.
