RONKONKOMA, NY, June 20, 2012, Eric Ashton Wiggam, Front Line Manager for the Federal Aviation Administration division of the United States Department of Transportation, has been recognized by Elite American Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in air traffic control.
At only 28, Mr. Wiggam is in a manager position in air traffic control. He holds a master’s degree in aviation business, which he obtained from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the institute of higher learning from whence he also graduated Cum Laude after earning a Bachelor of Science in Air Traffic Management. He is looking forward to reaching a higher level of management in this field, as his ultimate career goal is to be deeply involved in aviation safety.
Mr. Wiggam has been involved in aviation since he was young. He started flying air planes at the age of 12 and obtained his private pilot license at the age of 17. In his current role, Mr. Wiggam is responsible for ensuring the safety and fluidity of air traffic, overseeing operations of the New York Air Traffic Control Center at the Long Island Islip Macarthur Airport, and managing resources for 13 to 20 controllers and 12 direct reports. He has garnered a reputation of distinction for his outstanding efforts, earning various letters of recognition from the Federal Aviation Administration, and maintaining affiliation with such prominent organizations as the Grumman Aerospace Corporation Employees Flying Club and the Supervisory Air Traffic Control Organization.
